Happy St. Patrick’s Day

How are you doing on this fine day?

It feels like spring in CT this week with temps going up to the 60s most days. We are enjoying it but we’ve seen early spring in New England before and more snow fell afterwards so we’re not getting our hopes up that winter is over just yet.

But it is St. Patty’s Day for the Irish and since I’m 3/4 Irish (and a 1/4 Scotch), I’m going to tell you an Irish joke and a prayer.

First the joke:

An Irishman goes into a bar in America and orders three whiskeys. The barman asks: “Would it be better for if I put all three shots in one glass?”
The Irishman replies: “No! I have two other brothers back at home, so every time I come into a pub, I order a shot for me and a couple for them too.”
The following week, the Irishman orders just two whiskeys.
The barman asks: “Did something happen to one of your brothers?” “Oh no,” replies the Irishman. “I just decided to quit drinking!”

I remember back when I was drinking, I could shoot darts, play pool, drink and tell jokes all day. I always seemed to get better after I had a few in me. They called me Mo back then cause I was just one of the guys. It’s been many years since then but I’ve kept me sense of humor. I don’t tell the same foul jokes anymore but I can laugh deeply at myself and that has been a blessing.

Here’s my Irish prayer for you (although this prayer is for all of you, regardless of your background or ancestry):

Have a fun day,

Maureen
