You Have Inner Wisdom – Are you listening?
We often know, sometimes long before we accept it, that something is not good for us.
For example, I just knew I shouldn’t be taking on a certain client but my mind told me I needed the money so I did it anyway. Then I paid the price. It was a LOT of work for me and not worth the money in the end. (I’m not talking about any of my current clients btw!)
There’s a still small voice within each of us that nudges us in a direction for our highest good.
It takes practice to not only hear that voice but then to listen and go in the direction of the nudge.
You can’t hear it at all when you are focused on what ails you or your mind is working on trying to fix something.
The nudge or the insight often comes to me when I am NOT thinking about it. Maybe I’m taking a shower, or sleeping/dreaming, or walking in the woods suddenly a solution or insight pops into my mind. It comes at the most unexpected times.
Other times it’s super LOUD.
I remember one time I was praying for an angel to help me. I was stuck in the middle of Hartford, late on a rainy night, my muffler had fallen off my car and was dragging on the road. I couldn’t get a hold of Paul but thought I try him one more time.
This was before cell phones and I was walking towards a phone booth at the train station when these two guys walked by me.
Suddenly I hear a clear, loud voice in my head: “Don’t you recognize an angel when you see one?”
It jolted me right out of my fear and feeling sorry for myself.
I turned around to call out to them and they had turned around at the same time and one of them said “Can I help you?”
I nearly laughed with relief. “Yes, thank you! Can you please pull this muffler off my car so I can drive home?”
It was so easy for him. He popped that offending auto part in my trunk and I was on my way.
I was so grateful for them. And for that voice.
Learning to listen to the still small whispers is another thing.
Feeling your intuitive messages and trying to decide if it’s wisdom or fear has been a long and windy road for me. Because you see, my mind gets in the way.
One thing that has helped me in this area immensely however is meditation. I’ve been learning to listen in a whole new way.
Meditation has helped me to be more conscious of ALL my thoughts and feelings. Not just when I’m sitting quietly in meditation but throughout the day with my interactions, meetings, in my classes, and with my 1-on-1 clients.
When we honor our inner wisdom by following our intuitive guidance, well then life gets a lot better.
And then it gets even better because it almost doesn’t matter when chaos is present. We can still be grounded and centered in the midst of that.
Better decisions are made and more pleasing outcomes materialize.
It’s now a way of life for me and I highly recommend it.
So practice listening for your inner guidance and then find the courage to follow the nudges.
You know what is best for you. Stop looking for answers outside yourself and tap into your inner wisdom.
Love,
Maureen
