It’s my birthday!
It’s true, July 14 just happens to be my birthday.
I find that the older I get the more I let go of my expectations and how I’m going to celebrate.
More and more these days I find cause to have micro celebrations each and every day, just to enjoy life a little bit more.
I celebrate when I get to see the kids. (yay!) I celebrate when I get to see a friend for lunch. I celebrate when I finish a good workout.
Here’s a picture of the final sunset taken in Vermont last week on my motorcycle trip with Paul.
There are so many mini-moments to celebrate like noticing the wind on my face or the full moon in the sky. (Look up tonight!)
It only takes a moment of conscious gratitude to celebrate life. It doesn’t have to be a party. Or an event. Just a single moment of focused love of life. Know what I mean? Don’t wait until your birthday.
And yet the “events” are lovely too! I get to go to a party this weekend of an extended family member who is celebrating their 10 year marriage anniversary with a wedding. They didn’t have a wedding or reception 10 years ago so they’re having it now with their 2 children and extended family. I LOVE this!
Find both the big and small moments to celebrate on the daily.
Revel in the bird song. Savor the delicious meal you made. Appreciate the people who love you. Count your blessings.
Do this and your whole life can be a celebration.
I appreciate you for reading this newsletter and for being your awesome self. Celebrate yourself today.
All my best,
Maureen

On the podcast this week . . .
My guest on Emerge. Evolve. Lead. this week is Lindsey Ellison. Lindsey is a relationship coach, who helps people discover the breakthrough in their breakup. Her marriage breakups were a catalyst for self-discovery and with insightful reflection, she identified her own destructive relationship patterns and helps others to do the same.
Lindsey educated me about narcissism and love addiction which was truly fascinating. She had a co-dependency relapse and came to surrender in a whole new way to reach the state of freedom she now has. She learned that the love addict’s greatest fear is that of abandonment with an underlying fear of intimacy.
You must listen in as we dive deep into her fascinating and inspiring story.
