World Peace Starts With Inner Peace

Are you at peace?

It’s hard to feel at peace when dealing with life in this world today. If there is peace in your world, feel it, harness it, revel in it and perpetuate it. This is how we build world peace.

When we only focus on what is wrong it, we will not feel peace.

With Russia invading and destroying Ukraine where millions are now fleeing their homes and all they know and love we feel heartbreak and disgust at the human costs. Yet many organizations are stepping up to help those in distress. Focus on that instead.

World peace is not something I have control over. If it was up to me, I’d give time outs to Putin and a few other world leaders who are not playing nice in the sandbox. But it is not up to me. So I need to focus on what I CAN do.

What is in my control is to pray and send out thoughts of love and hope to all Ukrainians.

I can visualize resolution and see a world where people are appreciated for their differences, skills, talents, and value they provide to the planet. I can see people rising up and using their voice in unison with others to stand up for human rights.

It is also in my control to help by donating resources to organizations that are helping. Support positive messages on social media and work to create peace in my own little corner of the world.

I’ve heard this quote but I’m not sure who said it” “If you are walking through hell, keep on going.” and “The only way out is through.” Probably said by a million therapists.

So let’s be inspired by the soul and strength of the Ukrainians.

Here are a few that moved me:

And here is a note from Alcoholics in Ukraine who are asking for our prayers as they continue to stay sober. They remind us that we ALL speak “The Language of the Heart.” I’m sure there are recovering people in Russia who feel the same way. Let us pray for them too.

Violence is never the answer. Love is always the answer.

Love your freedom, yourself, your family, friends, colleagues and neighbors. Fight for your internal peace. Many of us are still fighting difficult internal battles too. Be at peace as much as you can. It really does help the world. Pray for peace. Perpetuate peace. Teach peace.

Love and peace to you and yours,

Maureen

“We cannot, of course, save the World because we do no have authority over its parts. We can serve the world though. That is everyone’s calling, to lead a life that helps.” ~Barry Lopez

On the podcast today . . .

This week we have Dr Stephan Neff from New Zealand (by way of Germany) who shares his message of hope and recovery. Stephan was a pain doctor and became hooked on the use of substances because of the very difficult culture and stress of being a doctor and always caring for everyone but yourself. His wife and his supervisor did an intervention on him and it worked. Listen in to hear this inspiring story.
