Did you know that everyone is born with two innate fears?
It’s not public speaking. It’s not a fear of falling. It is not a fear of dying. Although I know many of us have these fears.
I’m talking about an underlying, subconscious program that runs many of your decisions behind the scenes. These fears hold you back. They stop us from moving forward and pursuing our dreams.
They are: 1) Not feeling like we are enough and, 2) We won’t be loved.
These fears show up in almost every thing we do. We look for approval or permission from others (bosses, spouses, parents, etc.). Or we have this feeling that we are not good enough, strong enough, smart enough, skinny enough – you can insert the word of your choice.
It’s important to know that what we focus on, expands. If you are always focused on not having enough, then you’ll get more not-enoughness.
So please, take inventory. What you are thinking in your mind? What thoughts are you focused on? What is your inner critic saying to you in your head?
If you could give your inner critical voice a character would he or she be a bully, wimp, judge, committee, devil, manipulator, victimizer, doubting Thomas, negative Nelly or something else?
This negative voice is not your friend. This is the voice of ego, fear, doubt, and will give you a variety of excuses for why you should continue to stay small and not shine your best self.
Now don’t get me wrong, I know it’s natural to have a “conscience” because we are human. It’s normal to feel shame or guilt when we do something we know will hurt someone else.
But I’ve been working with leaders and listening to clients for years and this same issue comes up over and over again. I share these techniques and breakthroughs happen! Progress is made. Minds shift. That’s all it takes!
The world needs more of the YOU that is brilliant, creative, generous and kind. YOU are the leaders we need and your fear to step up out of your comfort zone may be holding you back. Do you have more potential? Can you get past your fears to step up into the next greatest version of you?
I consider myself a bit of an expert on “the inner critic” because I battled mine for years. I’ve learned to successfully manage this voice and I’ve designed a process that has worked for many people. I want to share it with you.
This workshop I’ve been teaching for the last 2 years to live audiences is now available in an online venue with a private Facebook support group. I hope this will reach as many people as possible so please share with your friends and colleagues.
The thing is if you don’t look at your voice and change the way you think and what you focus on, your life will never change.
So, ask yourself, are you happy in all areas of your life? Is there anything you’d really like to change or achieve that you haven’t? What’s your excuse?
What have you been avoiding or not facing because you are afraid?
If you could overcome your fear/excuses, what would be different in your life? In you? Would you feel some freedom? I bet you would! I’ve seen it happen in many many people including me. I want you to have this freedom too!
Please check out the workshop that I’ve created to help you deal with your critical inner voice so you can be more confident and live a life fulfilling your potential.
This online course starts on March 16th and will be rolled out in a 5 day, 5 module format.
